VOCATIONAL RELATED QUALIFICATION (VRQ)
As an Approved Centre by EAL we are able to offer the Intermediate Certificate in Engineering and Technology. This is equivalent to the National Certificate (NC).
This covers pathways in Fabrication and Welding, Maintenance, Mechanical and Multi-Skill. This can be achieved as part of a Modern Apprenticeship as the Educational component or as a stand alone certificate.
The certificate involves assessments throughout the course and an on-line test after the first three mandatory units. The work involved is both theory and practical. The normal attendance pattern is one day per week over one year.
The pathway chosen will reflect the type of working environment the candidate is involved in. Regular progress reports are sent to the employer.
The Mandatory units are:
- Engineering Environment Awareness
- Engineering Techniques
- Engineering Principles
We are also approved to offer the Advanced Diploma in Engineering & Technology for more advanced students.
